JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — All evacuation and pre-evacuation orders were lifted late Saturday for a fire burning in Golden Gate Canyon northwest of Golden.
The fire, which has been named the Bear Fire, was reported in the 4200 block of Bear Road around 6 p.m. Saturday.
Four homes were initially evacuated and a pre-evacuation notice had been issued for homes within a three-to-five-mile radius of the fire. Those orders were lifted just after 9 p.m. Saturday.
“Golden Gate Fire and multiple fire agencies did a great job creating a line around the fire,” the sheriff’s office tweeted. “They continue to knock the fire down, do not expect it to grow, and will monitor overnight and into tomorrow.”
