Evacuation, pre-evacuation orders lifted in Bear Fire in Golden Gate Canyon (Local Tips & Reviews)

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — All evacuation and pre-evacuation orders were lifted late Saturday for a fire burning in Golden Gate Canyon northwest of Golden.

The fire, which has been named the Bear Fire, was reported in the 4200 block of Bear Road around 6 p.m. Saturday.

Four homes were initially evacuated and a pre-evacuation notice had been issued for homes within a three-to-five-mile radius of the fire. Those orders were lifted just after 9 p.m. Saturday.

“Golden Gate Fire and multiple fire agencies did a great job creating a line around the fire,” the sheriff’s office tweeted. “They continue to knock the fire down, do not expect it to grow, and will monitor overnight and into tomorrow.”

At least one home was threatened earlier Saturday evening, the sheriff’s office had reported.

Acreage was reported between seven and eight acres around 8 p.m. Saturday
